On a beautiful warm sunny evening late last month, we once again had the pleasure of taking part in London Bridge Open Kitchen. An outdoor celebration of the vibrant restaurant, bar and brewing community in the London Bridge and Bermondsey area, organised by Team London Bridge, London Bridge Open Kitchen saw us and a number of others ‘pop up’ in the courtyard of White Cube for one night only.

Having a flipping great time for charity!


Shrove Tuesday, 17th February – also known as Pancake Day – once again saw a team of our sportier colleagues braving the cold to take part in local youth charity London Bubble’s annual fundraising pancake race.

Hallowe’en with Ben Jonson School & Magic Breakfast

When we wanted a super-scary pumpkin designed for Hallowe’en we knew straight away who we were gonna call – the creative kids at Ben Jonson School’s Magic Breakfast club, who we first met when they helped us to celebrate our first birthday back in July.

A competition ran at breakfast club during October to draw the scariest face and the winner, Ridwan, and two runners up Summayah and Fatih (a third runner-up, Saif, sadly couldn’t come) joined us during half-term for afternoon tea and the grand unveiling of Ridwan’s pumpkin, brought to life by the clever team in the kitchen!

But we were delighted to be able to lend a hand to our friends and neighbours at Kids Company when they asked if we could help them with the launch of their exhibition and research project, ‘Hungry Childhoods’, last night.

Guests ordering mineral water recently will no doubt have noticed the beautiful, colourful butterfly design on the label. But it’s not just the bottle that’s a talking point – the water itself is benefiting communities in Africa who don’t have access to the clean water that we take for granted.

Celebrating a year of good people from GoodPeople!

Apart of course from breakfast at aqua shard, there can be few nicer ways to start a bright Spring morning than celebrating the first birthday of GoodPeople Connect, a wonderful organisation helping unemployed Southwark residents into work. We are proud to have worked with GoodPeople Connect since the very beginning, two months before we opened, and to have recruited many of our team through them.

Tuesday 4th March was, of course, Pancake Day, and we were very excited when local theatre company London Bubble announced that they were organising a charity pancake race!

We didn’t need much persuading to put a team together to have fun while fundraising for LB+, London Bubble’s training programme offering life opportunities to unemployed young people who are also neither in education or training (NEET).
