We think this summer should be all about sorbet and Champagne! Refreshing, flavourful, fun, and always a treat.

As a child, summers in Italy for Luca, our Bars manager, were full of fresh, fruity sorbets, and he wanted to recreated that feeling of childhood delight in a delicious frozen treat. Like chefs, bartenders get inspiration from seasonal produce and Luca is no different. He explained that “creating new drinks is about taking familiar techniques and adopting them, and being inspired by the environment you’re in, so with these drinks I wanted to use the beautiful British summer fruits and herbs available to us, and make a delicious sorbet”.

How our design honours our location

When Aqua Restaurant Group creative director David Yeo and designers Jestico + Whiles were working together to create a fitting interior for a contemporary British restaurant, they took as inspiration two commodities closely associated not just with Britain, but also particularly with the south bank of the River Thames – gin and tea.

Jean and John’s dad Godfrey were visiting London and took the time to visit aqua shard to share Jean’s recipe – actually Godfrey’s mother’s recipe, so it’s been in the family for generations! – and some helpful tips for making perfect Yorkshires.

A week of Christmas carols

Visit us any evening from Monday 15th until Friday 19th December and you’ll find we’ve turned the atmosphere particularly festive with a roster of wonderful carol singers. Between 7pm and 9pm there’ll be carolling by the Christmas tree for everyone’s entertainment and to get guests in the Christmas spirit!

Hallowe’en with Ben Jonson School & Magic Breakfast

When we wanted a super-scary pumpkin designed for Hallowe’en we knew straight away who we were gonna call – the creative kids at Ben Jonson School’s Magic Breakfast club, who we first met when they helped us to celebrate our first birthday back in July.

A competition ran at breakfast club during October to draw the scariest face and the winner, Ridwan, and two runners up Summayah and Fatih (a third runner-up, Saif, sadly couldn’t come) joined us during half-term for afternoon tea and the grand unveiling of Ridwan’s pumpkin, brought to life by the clever team in the kitchen!
